Patrons waiting in line to buy tickets for the Oct. 2 Rihanna concert were told that reserved seating for the show had sold out, less than 10 minutes after tickets went on sale.

So, this blog would’ve come your way much earlier had my BlackBerry not decided to crap out during the VMAs (which is beyond convenient).

Anyway, I’ve been up in the Fall Out Boy suite all night, and I saw a host of hot performances (FOB with Lil Wayne, Travis McCoy and Tyga on a remix of “This Ain’t a Scene, It’s an Arms Race” comes to mind), but nothing can touch Fall Out being joined on the suite’s tiny stage by none other that Rihanna, who positively KILLED a rocking version of her hit “Shut Up and Drive.”

Wearing a black leather dress and headbanging with reckless abandon, she tore through the tune with the fire of Joan Jett. It was truly a sight to behold … now only if I could get my BBerry to actually send the photos I took …

After lackluster years in Miami and New York, MTV went west this year to seek its fortune for the Video Music Awards at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

But like most Vegas gaming rooms, the VMAs were filled with dizzying lights, an air of heightened anticipation, and very infrequent payouts.

The plan was to shake things up, but unfortunately it felt like MTV shook a little too hard.

R+b star Rihanna reduced a crew member on the set of the video for Umbrella to tears because she was “the most incredible thing she had ever seen”.

The singer, 19, was decorated in silver paint for part of the video accompanying the hit single, and director Chris Applebaum admits the sight made those on-set extremely emotional.

He says, “I had one eye in the camera and the other one was closed. And I heard this odd sound, and so I opened the other eye and looked down, and the camera assistant was crying.

When Rihanna set out to record her third album, Good Girl Gone Bad, she had one strict goal in mind: Take more chances. Musically, lyrically and even visually, the Bohemian beauty wanted to reintroduce herself to her fans and the music industry alike.

According to director Chris Applebaum — who helmed the clip for “Umbrella,” the album’s first single — Rih Rih was adamant about exacting her objective, even if she wasn’t so specific about the details for the job at hand.

“She couldn’t stress [enough] to me how much she wanted to take chances,” he said. “She said, ‘Please send me something, but I want to do some choreography. I really want to do some extraordinary performance, but please don’t send me anything unless it’s really, really out there.’ It was probably one of those things a director is dying to hear from an artist, especially one that I respect and love as much as Rihanna. I knew it was going to be an incredible challenge. And that it was going to be really exciting.”

R&B beauty Rihanna has laughed off reports she is dating Hollywood star Shia LaBeouf.

The Umbrella hitmaker, 19, was photographed dining with the Transformer actor, 21, at a Beverly Hills, California eaterie on Tuesday, prompting speculation the pair were dating.

Rihanna says: “Me and Shia, we are just friends, you know, we barely even know each other.”

The Barbados-born singer has also denied she is dating former B2K star Omarion, declaring: “Not at all.”
